In the heart of the captivating rolling hills, resided a young shepherd. His existence was pure, simple yet virtuous. His only responsibility was essentially to tend to his flock of sheep.

Their low murmuring and the murmuring of the gales among the single tree on the mountaintop were his main co-dwellers. Day after day, watching over his responsibilities instilled in him a sense of calm satisfaction.

Yet, there were at times moments of isolation, when the shepherd boy would yearn for companionship. In one such instance out of sheer monotony, the shepherd boy orchestrated a troublesome plan.

Narratives of predators preying on sheep had been heard times and again in the village. So, the boy chose website to used this fear and played a joke on the inhabitants.

One day he dashed into the village shouting “Wolf! There is a wolf preying on my sheep!” The terrified villagers sprinted up the hills for rescue but found no wolf.

The boy chuckled at the confusion on their faces. This prank continued for a couple of more days. Yet, one morning, a real wolf did attack the flock. The shepherd boy dashed for aid screaming “Wolf, Wolf!” But this time, no one showed up.

Frustrated and alone, the boy fought against the wolf but could protect only few of his flock. Heartbroken, he went back to the town only to be met with a reprimand on honesty and the consequences of crying wolf.

The story of this shepherd boy has been passed down generations as a mediaeval parable for teaching the importance of honesty, the consequences of lying and the perils of crying wolf. Moreover, it stresses how trust once violated, is hard to regain. It's a story as pertinent today as it was anciently.
